As seen on Season 23 of Oxygen's Snapped,Shelly Arndt was
convicted of the first degree murder of Darcy Veeder Jr. who died in a house fire she set. She also endangered her own family members in that process. She appealed her conviction and lost. She was sentenced to life in prison without early release.

A jury convicted Shelly Arndt of numerous crimes, including premeditated murder in the first degree and arson in the first degree.  She appeals the trial court’s denial of her motion  for  a  new  trial  on  the  basis  of  juror  misconduct  and  requests  reversal  of  her  murder conviction.  Because the trial court did not abuse its discretion in denying the motion, we affirm.

Melissa Napier and Billy Ray Napier

As seen on Season 23 of Oxygen's Snapped, Melissa Napier entered an Alfred plea to charges of first-degree murder and defiling a body in the shooting death of Billy Ray Napier , her husband. She conspired with her then fourteen year old daughter, Savannah Napier to shoot him and hide the body. She was sentenced to a total of 45 years. The consequences for Savannah Napier are unclear. Denise Frei and Curtis Bailey

As seen on Season 23 of Oxygen's Snapped, Denise Frei killed her boyfriend, Curtis Bailey. While she claimed battered woman syndrome, she later admitted to planning to kill him and did so with two others. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole in September, 2011. Her appeal includes ( see link ): The defendant killed her longtime boyfriend. At trial she raised a defense of justification based on evidence of battered women’s syndrome and a defense of insanity based on various diagnoses including depression and an anxiety disorder. She was convicted of first-degree murder. On appeal, she alleges the district court erred in denying her motion for mistrial and by giving improper jury instructions on justification, insanity, and reasonable doubt.
